Micro optimization of wf_utils:get_*base/1

attached is a small git-patch build for 7dbc0b0ec5a90196ac2a958df9bbbb604329b04b to optimize get_*base functions.
To measure the performance on your platform please refer to http://gist.github.com/42825. I achieved a 50% speedup on my machine.
